The days I spent with Evelyn alone were laid back. Most of the time!
The most enjoyable times were when we stayed put somewhere that she liked. She liked the beach with her new beach set: a bucket and spade! She liked Paloma Park, mainly for the chickens, the water fountain and the stones! She loves stones 😉 One day we were out with the pram and she was refusing to sleep (for a change) and we came across a little square with water fountains. She spent hours playing with a watering can from her beach set. We relaxed in the shade. It was hot. Yep, the simplest times were definitely best. I’ve thought about that park and water fountain many times over the few weeks we’ve been home (In the rain) That stuff makes her so happy!
We spent some time by the pool in the late afternoons when she could potter about paddling and not have to worry about the sun too much. She liked the pool very much.
Evelyn also enjoyed the children’s club. You don’t leave them, you just play in the huge room with loads of play equipment and painting and things. We had to walk past this every time we left our room 😉
She didn’t really like our room which was strange! Everytime we got in their she cried to go in the pool which you could see from the balcony. The balcony she liked, sweeping it with the broom and pulling wet clothes off the maiden.
We didn’t eat out other than mcdonalds if that counts. Shame on me! 😉 We had a tonne of fruit from the supermarkets and made pasta and noodles etc back at the room. Simple and easy. And plenty of snacky things. Watermelon is a new found fave of hers.
Taz’s flight was delayed by 6 hours so he arrived with us at the hotel at about 2.30am on the Friday morning!
Saturday night Evelyn was up for around 4 hours in the middle of the night. Why, child. Why?! We suspect maybe she was a bit ill which always seems to happen away from home: in Canada and Germany! And now Spain too.
We had a walk up and down the prom during the day. It was hot. Around 25 degrees. Taz rented a road bike and got a few good rides in. I went for a run one of the days. Evelyn just wanted to play in stones or dip her toes in the pool and splash. And that was her happy!
It was nice!
I loved Spain just the 2 of us. I’m glad I had that experience. But it was nice to have 2 pairs of hands at the end of the week too 🙂
